Thomas Nick, DVMDr. Nick is one of seven children raised in the nearby community of Lake Zurich. He has had an instinct for animal health and welfare from a very young age and spent his youth rescuing various creatures that he and his siblings discovered while exploring. He graduated from Ross University in 1990 and returned to the Crystal Lake area with his wife Lisa, a certified veterinary technician, whom he met while at Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine. Together they have two children, two dogs and two cats. Dr. Nick enjoys golf, biking and "geocaching" with his family. He has been part of the Crystal Lake Veterinary Hospital for fifteen years. Prior to joining, he held various positions in suburban Chicago and in Ohio. |

Libby McVey, DVM
Dr. Libby McVey, D.V.M. graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Animal Science (1996), obtained her D.V.M. from the University of Wisconsin (2000). She interned at the Animal Medical Center in New York, and worked for eight years as an emergency veterinarian. Her special interests include ophthalmology, internal medicine, and surgery. Dr. McVey has been a resident of Crystal Lake since 2004 where she lives with Rubin, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Neo, the Wonder Cat. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, and knitting. Rubin enjoys swimming and fetching tennis balls. Neo enjoys lying in sunspots or on the latest knitting project.

Lisa NickLisa has been working at CLVH for over 13 years. She graduated from Purdue University as a veterinary technician. She and Dr. Nick have two children, two dogs, and two cats. Lisa enjoys competing in agility trials with her Standard Poodles. Sha also loves spending time at home with her family. |

Susan SchultzSusan first came to the clinic as a client and loved it so much she begged Dr. Nick to give her a job! She is now in her 12th year at CLVH, after retiring from a 20 year executive career at Motorola. Susan dedicates her life to her two "special needs" Doberman Pinschers and her five rescued cats. When not at the clinic, she is passionate about fitness, nutrition, gardening, and horses. Susan holds both a Bachelor of Science and Masters degree in Business Administration |

Ashleigh NobleAshleigh has been a receptionist at CLVH since 2009 and enjoys every minute of her job. Her favorite part is greeting all the clients and making their time here a happy experience. Her love for animals came from her father and she thanks him for that every day. She shares her life with her Doberman Pinscher Ace, a bulldog mix name Jessie and many other pets. When not working, Ashleigh spends her time camping, being with her dogs and hanging out with friends. |

Karen AndersonKaren has a BS degree in Business Administration from Columbia College and a Certificate in Grooming from Windy City Pet Grooming School. She lives in the Cary area and shares her life with greyhounds Lacy and Morgan, two Cockatiels, two Parakeets and, of course, her dear husband Leo. She has been an animal lover all of her life and truly appreciates being a part of a profession that so deeply warms her heart. |

Amanda HerreraAmanda is a graduate of the Midwest School of Dog Grooming. She has been grooming for over twenty years. She is a proud owner of two miniature dachshunds, Violet and Lewis. |
